Hi everybody!
Following is the minutes from todays student council meeting.
I has not been present in the last two student council meetings. The reason is that I have attended a funeral, and attended a day at Notodden VGS, as I am graduating from KIS after this school year. I am sorry that I have not been able to send out a weekly update before, but following is the minutes from todays meeting.
I will send out the minutes from the meeting 30th of November later this evening. I will also post the weekly updates onto the student councils webpages, www.ksco.webnode.com, so you all can find back to the weekly updates later on. The website has not been updated since it was builded, due to server problems - but I will make sure the websites are updated before tomorrow.

REMEMBER:

TO BE A MEMBER OF THE STUDENT COUNCIL IS A RESPONSABILITY!
Helge started todays meeting by telling about the members of the student council that to be a part of the student council is a responsability.
A lot of the persons that were supposed to bring cake or equipment for the cake sale last week, did not bring what they were supposed to bring. There was no more cake left, but a lot of student still wanted to buy cake. Helge think it is very sad that the student council did not get the money that the student council could have earned on the cake sale. He asked the persons that did not bring in their contribution if they had a good excuse.
He hopes that it will not be necessary to remind the student council members about their responsabilities once more.
ECONOMY
The latest cake sale, togehter with the glam day, brought in just under 2000.- nok to the student council. From an earlier cake sale, the student council got in 1303 kroner. The student council have about 3200.- nok to use.
Isabella from the C-class is not only the second leader of the student council, she is also the economy responsable for KSC. The money has been forwarded to Isabella, so she can take care of them.
WHAT CAN WE DO TO GET MORE MONEY?
We discussed what we can do to get more money for the student council. The only thing that is planned right now, is another fun-day (similar to the glam/pink-day that were arranged last week) after christmas. We also hav the elf-day (nissefest) coming up the last week before christmas. Any ideas of other ways to make money for the student council can be presented to the student council meeting next week, or to Isabella in MYPC.
ELF-DAY / NISSEFEST
There will be arranged an elf-day (nissefest) the last week before christmas.
The student council have brought up three possible movies for the day; Elf, Home Alone 1 and Grinchen.
The MYP-classes will vote for the movies shortly. I will take the votes in the D-class, Helge will take the votes in the C-class, Lena will take the votes from the B-class, and Rasmus will take the votes from the A-class. Please make sure these votes are done before the next meeting!
A group of persons from MYPB will arrange gingerbread(?) / pepperkaker for the elf-day. The persons have got money from the student council to buy this.
GRADE 4 WILL HAVE 2 EXTRA CAKE SALES
Grade 4 has asked the student council if they could have 2 more cake sales, so they can earn extra money for their trip in March.
The student council has allowed grade 4 to arrange 2 extra cake sales in January / February.
The cake sale routine will still go as normal, but when two cake sales are arranged in the same week - one of them will need to be healthy. Kjersti will inform grade 4, and the student council will come back with more information later.
THE ROAD DUTY IS TOO LATE ON THE ROAD
A member from the road duty asked if the members of the road patrol could go 2 minutes earlier from class, so they would have time to get the "uniforms" on, and get on the road before PYP comes out.
The members will ask the current teacher if this is OK. The case will be taken back to the student council if any problems come up.
THE STUDENT COUNCIL DOES NOT ARRANGE ENOUGH MEETINGS?
Some members of the student council does not think it is enough with one meeting in the KSC every week, and suggest 2 meetings.
The reason is that things fall out on this one week, and some members do not remember what happened in the last meeting a week after.
We discussed pros and cons, and have decided to do the meetings as normal, at least to christmas.
